Spoutbase Terms of Service

updated 29 May 2019

Scope of Service

This site and its associated browser extension have been tested to work with the following browsers:

  • Google Chrome (version 42 and higher)
  • Firefox (version 40 and higher)

While other browsers (especially those based on Chromium or Firefox) may work, support is not guaranteed for any browsers other than those listed above.

It is currently not possible to crawl pages that are not visible on the public Internet (e.g., pages that require logging in to a site to access). We plan to support crawling pages behind a login form in the future, in a way that protects the privacy of your sensitive login credentials.

To sign up, you must provide only your name and email address. If signing up for a paid account, you also need to provide information required to complete payment (which may include a billing address). No other personal information is required.

You can close your account at any time by emailing us at support@spoutbase.com. You have the right to have all of your data removed from the site upon deletion.

You may generate public Spouts using the site and these should be assumed to be viewable by anyone. If your account includes the private Spout feature, your private Spouts will not be intentionally shown to other users. Under no circumstances will your private or public Spout data be shared with third parties.

Your personal data, including your browsing history, email address and identity will not be shared with anyone without your consent except as necessary to provide you with the Spoutbase service.

Your data will be backed up regularly, and the backups tested.

If there is a significant outage, you will receive a full explanation of the circumstances and what measures will be taken to prevent a recurrence.

If the site ceases operation, you will receive an opportunity to download your stored data.

You have the right to receive an explanation, and when possible advance warning, if your account is throttled or cancelled for the reasons outlined below.

You may not make automated requests to the site more frequently than once every ten seconds.

You must not abuse the site by knowingly posting malicious code or other malicious data that could harm other users.

If you find a security or privacy bug in the service, we ask that you please report it right away to support@spoutbase.com.

You may not use the site to harass other users.

We reserve the right to throttle or close accounts consuming an unreasonable proportion of site resources.

You cannot create Spouts that store content illegal under Massachusetts law.
